As part of the Local Educational Support Center Network, our center offers quality professional development online through OPEN NH and e-Learning for Educators. |

|
Convenient Course Delivery |
OPEN NH courses are 100% online. An internet connection is all that is needed! Courses start with a face-to-face orientation that helps participants familiarize themselves with the online learning environment and course requirements. Courses are divided into seven weekly units. Each unit may include readings, learning tasks and assignments, projects, and discussions. Course units begin on Wednesdays and end on the following Tuesday. Participants must complete any unit assignments during that timeframe. A major component of each unit is the discussion and participants are expected to participate in the online discussion throughout the week. Participants who successfully complete a course receive a certificate for 30 contact hours. |

OPEN NH is part of e-Learning for Educators, a multi-state project funded through a federal Ready to Teach Grant*. The five-year initiative is designed to help states meet critical requirements for improving student achievement through providing high quality professional development content and support as they build their capacity to implement programs to meet teacher quality requirements. OPEN NH seeks to address the needs of students in high-poverty, low–achieving schools. |
Earn Graduate Credits |
Participants have the option to earn three graduate credits from Plymouth State University for an additional cost of $125 per credit plus a $25 PSU registration fee.
Students currently enrolled in a graduate program at PSU should check with their advisor to see if OPEN NH courses will apply to their graduate program. |

A key goal of Follow The Child is to improve the personal, social, physical, and academic well-being of each New Hampshire student. In doing so, the Commissioner of Education invites each educator in the state to consider becoming a Follow The Child designated teacher. OPEN NH courses are aligned with that philosophy. These courses are designed to encourage educators to share their experiences through open dialogue. Course projects involve practical applications which can be used directly in the classroom to enhance current teaching practices of New Hampshire educators. |
